ontact Greater Philadelphia provides round-the-clock, confidential and anonymous assistance to callers with emotional and personal problems. We do not give advice; we offer empathetic listening and help callers find ways to work through their difficulties.

Anonymous listeners field calls in a caring, non-judgmental fashion, recognizing that many callers have the strength and resources to help themselves. Using empathetic listening skills developed during an intensive training course, listeners help callers determine their own feelings, identify their own options and find their own strengths to resolve their problems.

Listeners help diffuse crisis situations caused by:

  • Troubled relationships
  • Loneliness, grief & loss
  • Depression & anger
  • Sexual abuse, substance abuse & domestic violence
  • Job loss & mental health

Contact provides callers with information and referral to other agencies that can provide additional help. We also act as a crisis-intervention service for callers involved in life-threatening situations.
