ontact Greater Philadelphia is a non-profit, United
Way agency that provides free, confidential and anonymous telephone helpline services to the residents of the Greater Philadelphia area, including Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties. We are staffed by volunteers who are trained in crisis intervention and active listening skills. Our helplines offer a caring presence for lonely, depressed, anxious, and needy people. We respond to more than 81,700 calls a year — over 225 a day — from people of all ages. For some, Contact is their main source of assistance.
Serving this area since 1972, Contact is a non-profit 501(c)3 agency funded by the United Way, foundations, organizations and individuals in recognition of the unique services we provide in the field of mental health. We are accredited by the American Association of Suicidology, a member of Life Line International, which operates in 10 countries on five continents. Contact cooperates with other public and private community services and honors the existing professional relationships of those we serve.
